The Division of Abandoned Mine Lands wishes to receive bids on the Jerry Collins Project. The site is located approximately one mile southwest of the Printer Post Office on Kentucky on Ky. Route 122 in Floyd County. The site is near the community of Martin on the Martin 7.5¿ Quadrangle at lat. 37o31¿28¿ ¿ long. 82o45¿13¿.

The proposed construction plans address a landslide caused by subsurface drainage from old deep mine works. The slide threatens the Jerry Collins home. Toe of slide is currently less than twenty-five (25¿) feet from the residence. The slide is pushing against a utility building located between the landslide and the home. The Division of Abandoned Mine Lands wishes to receive bids on the following project: The Brian Lowe (AML) Reclamation Project is located near Sidney in Pike County. The site is located off of KY468 on Davidson Hill Road, approximately 16.8 miles in a Northeasterly direction from the junction of US 23 and US 119 in Pikeville. Latitude = 37^38¿57¿, Longitude = 82^21¿26¿.

This project originated from a complaint concerning a small landslide located above the county road and adjacent to a family cemetery. There are two portals located on the site as well. There are some minor drainage issues from the water coming from the portals. Some of the water is coming from surface runoff due to the steep hillsides at the project site. The project consists of the renovation of the front lobby and auditorium of Meece Hall.
The lobby consists of the replacement of both the interior and exterior window walls,
new wood paneling on walls, new doors to other corridors, new lighting, new ceiling
and new terrazzo inset in existing floor. The restroom renovation includes bringing the
restroom up to code and the replacement of all interior finishes and toilet accessories.
Mechanical work consists of replacement of exhaust fans. Plumbing consists of carrier
replacements, relocation of lavatories in one restroom and all new fixtures throughout.
Electrical work includes demolition of existing light fixtures and misc. work. New light
fixtures and lighting controls will be installed in both spaces. Additional fire alarm
devices will be included.

The proposed Jeff Howard AML Reclamation Project consists of excavating to rock an active slide to eliminate problems for KY 194 and placement of earthen material in front of an existing collapsed mine opening, in Pike County. The project consists of the installation of a poured seamless flooring over existing quarry tile floor. The approximate floor area is 2,250 SF. The seamless flooring shall have a Kentucky State Logo placed in the foyer. New phenolic toilet stall fronts and urinal screens shall be installed in 2 Men’s and 2 Women’s Toilets. New lavatories shall be installed in 2 Men’s and 2 Women’s Toilets. Various new hollow metal doors and closers are installed. Repair and patching of the existing EFIS, and painting touchup is involved. A small area of damaged gypsum wallboard ceiling in the Vending Building, as well as a small amount of gutter and downspout is part of the project. New 1×4 flluorescent lighting and a chandelier in the Lobby shall be installed in the Main Building, as well as 1×4 fluorescent lighting fixtures in the Vending Building.

Fire Alarm System Upgrades, Western State Hospital

The Work consists of removing existing fire alarm wiring between fire alarm control panels, fire alarm devices and replacing with new wiring in Buildings 48, 49, 50, 51, 55, 56, 57, 58, 59, 60, 61, 62, and 63. Additionally, replacing the existing Simplex 4100 panel with new network control panel and three new transponders in Buildings 56, 49, and 62 is required. All devices will require checking or changing address identification. New wiring shall be power limited cable concealed and supported with bridle rings 2’-0″ O.C. Exposed wiring shall be installed in surface metal raceways or conduit (finished areas only). Concealed wiring shall be installed on bridle rings 2’-0″ on center. All new wiring to be tagged and identified. Certification of the entire fire alarm system is required after work is completed. All removed wiring is to be delivered to Owner’s designated location on site and will be retained by Owner. The fire alarm system shall remain operational at all times except for switch out of individual building control panels during normal working hours. These facilities shall be monitored during switch out to provide protection.
