This project calls for a proposed eight to ten foot wide asphalt or concrete (where indicated) shared use path along Bluegrass Parkway from Hurstbourne Parkway to Blankenbaker Parkway.
This project includes the construction of a new addition that consists of five classrooms and six resource rooms with support spaces. Construction includes load bearing CMU walls, steel truss system with metal decking and asphalt shingle roofing. The mechanical system includes heat pump units to match the existing building system. Renovation of some existing spaces is included in the project scope, including new finishes and a secure entry vestibule.
The project includes renovation of the existing study room open area to provide for a new Training Room. By additive alternate, a Multi-Purpose Classroom will be constructed in the existing open study room area, along with the removal of an existing glazed partition wall and new carpet flooring installation. The work includes new metal stud/gypsum partition walls, steel frames, wood doors, door hardware and new finishes including rubber wall base, carpet tile, painting, acoustical ceiling system and corner guards. The newly renovated areas will also include new HVAC, power/data and reworked existing lighting and other miscellaneous work.

The project involves re-roof work on center bay of a located at Bluegrass Station in
Lexington, KY. The two side bays have been reroofed recently. The existing
approximately 63,000 square foot roof to be removed is an ballasted EPDM single ply
system on metal deck. There is reason to be believe that a significant amount of the
metal deck shall need to be replaced. The new roof system is TPO single ply system
that is adhered attached over a 1 1/2″ rigid board insulation. The ballast will be
disposed of on site.

This Work includes the removal and replacement of existing translucent fiberglass sandwich panel system in existing rough opening. The existing exterior cementitious stucco on the front elevation will be removed down to existing C.M.U. substrate and replaced with prefinished metal wall panels over galvanized hat channel furring, over 1 ½” rigid insulation, over fluid applied water-proofing. Existing brick and cut stone masonry will be pressure cleaned and re-pointed as necessary to condition agreed to be satisfactory by Contractor’s mock-up at Pre-Installation conference. Specifically, brick masonry will be re-pointed every sixth course where brick masonry ties have rusted and dislodged mortar joints outward from face of brick. Re-pointing Work will include installing new weep vents in existing brick masonry at upper and lower portions of exterior wall to provide adequate ventilation of existing brick veneer. Existing brick masonry chimney will be demolished to a point 24″ above existing shingle roof plane. Bricks from demolished chimney are to be salvaged and re-used in replacing spalled or damaged brick masonry units in existing exterior walls to be re-pointed. The Work also includes installing new aluminum z-channel trims around existing louvers to conceal rough sealant joints.
