PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
Furnishing all labor, materials and equipment and performing all work
necessary for LED Taxiway Lighting Project at the Murray-Calloway County Airport
The Commonwealth of Kentucky, Division of Engineering and Contract Administration (DECA) and the Department of Parks (Parks) is planning to replace the emergency spillway and raise the inlet of the principal spillway for the General Butler State Park Dam.
The concrete emergency spillway was constructed in 1939 by the Civilian Conservation Corps and is in an advanced state of structural distress. The proposed emergency spillway replacement will consist of demolition of the existing 10 foot by 3 foot reinforced concrete box culvert, concrete drop structure, three (3) 48-inch CMP’s and concrete headwall. The new emergency spillway will be a reinforced concrete structure consisting of a 12 foot by 4 foot box culvert through the embankment, discharging to a chute spillway and stilling basin on the downstream side of the embankment. The overall length of the new emergency spillway structure is 133 feet. The stilling basin will discharge to a riprap channel.
In conjunction with demolition of the emergency spillway, the CCC inscription on the culvert headwall on the upstream side of the dam shall be removed intact by saw cutting and the resultant slab preserved for display. The Contractor shall submit a plan prior to demolition, approved by the Design Team and General Butler personnel, for preservation of the concrete slab. The plan shall also include design of a pedestal to support the slab.
The principal spillway for the dam was replaced in 2014 and the new inlet which was installed lowered the previous normal pool elevation of the lake. The principal spillway structure inlet will be raised approximately 1.4 feet by addition of a precast or cast-in-place concrete collar to the existing structure. The inlet raise will return the pool elevation of the lake to previous levels. Raising the inlet will also require raising the existing catwalk and either replacing or extending the slide gate controls, the Contractor shall submit a plan for approval to accomplish this work. The existing principal outlet headwall will be demolished and replaced with a new impact basin discharging to a riprap channel.
Construction of the new emergency spillway will require a substantial excavation of the existing embankment and existing roadway. The entire length of the embankment will be receive new asphalt pavement consisting full depth replacement over the excavation area and overlays elsewhere.
The project requires removal and replacement of an existing wooden walkway located on the upstream side of the dam near the east abutment. The Contractor will be responsible for restoring the walkway to its current condition utilizing either salvaged existing or new materials. Any deviation from the current configuration will require prior approval by the Design Team and General Butler State Park personnel.
All slopes shall be regraded and disturbed areas will be seeded and mulched. Open areas of the new structures will receive fencing as shown on the Construction Drawings.

The Project consists of the construction of a new 1,695 sf addition on a full cast-in-place concrete unfinished basement to the existing Library building, as well as renovated interior finishes and site improvements for the Bracken County Public Library. The project shall include, but not limited to, concrete slab on grade lower level accessible basement, poured reinforced concrete footings and foundation walls, concrete slab over metal decking and steel framed beams and floor joists at the main floor level, wood stud wall framing, wood roof trusses with plywood sheathing and standing seam metal roofing system. The work shall also include all of the related site work for excavation, building layout, temporary construction fencing & construction trailer; NOI, soil erosion control, excavation & fill, trench excavation, underground storm water drainage system, parking lot revision and replacement including
asphalt paving & striping of lot, concrete sidewalks, curb and sodding. Upgraded electrical systems, new dedicated HVAC systems, LED lighting, fire alarm and limited A/V equipment.

The Infrastructure project consists of replacing existing sanitary piping, existing steam piping, and a new chilled water system. The sanitary piping work will consist of replacing all of the
existing piping and manholes from Pence hall to the manhole outside of The Funkhouser
Building. This work will include adding new piping and manholes outside of Kastle Hall to tie
in to the other new work. The steam piping work will consist of replacing all of the piping and
valves around the Chemistry-Physics building extending to the vault by Bowman Hall and to

PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
The project consists of the creation, expansion and/or resurfacing of six (6) asphalt parking
lots across campus. Three of the project sites are expansions of existing lots: The ADA lot at
the corner of Rose & Huguelet; the Scott Street lot and the lot behind the Craft
Center/Memorial Coliseum, where the outdoor Blue Basketball Courts (and most recently the
temporary Bookstore) were located. Two of the sites are currently gravel parking lots at the
corner of Elizabeth St and Transcript and on Transcript to the west of Press Ave. The final lot
will be constructed at the corner of Press and Leader Avenues. Demolition of existing
elements will be required at each site to differing degrees. Erosion control measures shall be
installed and maintained at each site throughout the duration of construction. Some earth
moving will be required on several of the lots. Concrete curb/gutter will border nearly all sides
of the parking lots and concrete sidewalks and driveway aprons will be required at most of the
lots. The Scott Street lot includes a concrete stair with stainless steel handrails and campus
standard bollards. All of the lots will be paved with asphalt and striped per UK’s standards.
Storm sewer improvements will be included at the ADA, Press Avenue, Elizbeth Street and
Scott Street lots. Lawns around all lots will be sodded and planting beds installed with
hardwood mulch, trees, shrubs and perennials. Lighting improvements will be included at the
ADA, Press Avenue, Scott Street and Blue Courts lots. The sites will be phased as follows:
Phase 1 will commence May 8 and include the ADA and Elizabeth Street lots; Phase 2 will
commence June 4 and include the Blue Courts, Scott Street and Transcript West*. Phase 3
will commence July 9 and will include the Press Avenue lot. All lots except Press Avenue
must be substantially completed by August 1*. (*Elizabeth Street must be completed before
Transcript West can commence.) Press Avenue must be substantially completed by
September 10, 2018.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
Project consists of the phased renovation of the existing Marshall County
High School and auxiliary buildings on campus. Renovations include but are not limited to major renovations of the central student commons, existing cafeteria, media center, restrooms and
expansion/renovation of the administration suite. Renovations also include modifications of existing building stair roof structures, replacement of the existing membrane and metal roofs, finishes upgrades and door and hardware replacement. The site scopes are concentrated around the administration expansion, new site lighting and alternates for overlaying the existing asphalt
parking lots. Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing renovations include major electrical revisions
and sprinkler expansion. Plumbing associated with the restroom renovations and new science laboratory. This project will run in conjunction with a separate Energy Saving Contract that will address large portions of the Mechanical and Lighting renovations.
