For the past 70 years Lynn Imaging has been providing printing services throughout Kentucky, southern Indiana and Ohio. Founded in 1946, Lynn Imaging opened as a blueprint and supply company, catering to the needs of builders and surveyors. The first store was only 1,000 square feet, located on Short Street in downtown Lexington, Kentucky.
Even in the late 60s, the Lynn family brought the newest technology to its customers. Lynn Blueprint provided clients the ability to print remotely by selling HP Pen plotters to their customer base.
A hard-working husband and wife team, Jack & Marcella Lynn, started and grew Lynn Blueprint. In 1971, JL Lynn, Jack’s son, joined his parents to keep the successful company moving forward. Then in 1972, Mike Carter joined JL in management.
The next 20 years were a time of expansion for the company. Mike and JL opened branch offices in Eastern Kentucky during the 1970’s coal boom to offer permit mapping and engineering equipment and supplies. At the main office in Lexington, engineering copiers, scanners, plotters, supplies, surveying supplies and instruments were added to the reprographic services to become a full-service company to the construction industry. Multiple locations continued to open throughout Kentucky and Ohio over the years.
Lynn Blueprint, Lynn Copies, and Lynn Color Graphics became Lynn Imaging in 2001. As the architectural, engineering and construction communities were looking to digital solutions, Lynn Imaging launched a worldwide presence with the Digital Plan room for construction document distribution. Designed by Mike Carter, the e-distribution system completely changed the construction industry in Kentucky.
As times continue to change, Lynn Color Graphics expanded into it’s own location called Monster Color, in 2007. Monster Color can print large color graphics on just about anything and just about any size.
Lynn Imaging continues to lead construction technology. eComm is the latest offering for the management of construction documents and workflow – currently, eComm has managed more than 1 billion dollars in active construction projects.
Today the Lynn Family tradition lives on with three 3rd generation Lynn Imaging family employees. After 70 years, Lynn Imaging continues to be family owned and operated.
